Panos Paramithas

- President -

Panos Paramithas is the President of Three Hierarchs Academy Board. He and his wife, Dionysia, have been residents of Pinal County for 10 years. He has overseen the operations of The Greek Orthodox Brotherhood of St. Poimen throughout the last 15 years. Panos holds BS and MS degrees in Engineering and an MBA in Finance. He has taught University level courses in Project Management, Mathematics, and Finance.

At present, Panos is a Nuclear Engineering Director and is nearing the completion of a 35-year career in the nuclear power industry. Panos intends to dedicate his post-retirement efforts to the continued improvement of the Academy and its establishment as a highly reputable educational institution.

Maria Papaioannou

- Director -

Maria Papaioannou earned a Ph.D. in Classics and an M.A. in Greek & Roman Archaeology, both from the University of British Columbia, and received her B.A. from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greek Philology, Art History & Archaeology. She is an Associate Professor of Classical Archaeology and co-founder and Director of the Centre for Hellenic Studies at the University of New Brunswick. Maria began her career at Aristotle’s Hellenic School in British Columbia, where for over twenty years she taught the Greek language (modern and ancient), literature, culture and history. She also contributed to the development of elementary and high school curricula. In 2005 she began teaching at the University of New Brunswick, where she conducts research on the textual and material remains of the Greco-Roman world, focusing on the architecture of Greece while under Roman rule. Her work has appeared in the publications of the Austrian Academy of Science, the British School in Athens, Cambridge Press, and Getty Publications.

She has conducted field work in Greece (Stymphalos, Dion, Abdera, Mytilene and Kalymnos) and recently has established a field school at Abdera. Maria has received numerous national and international awards and grants, and is involved in a number of professional societies, including the Archaeological Institute of America, the Canadian Institute in Greece and the Classical Association of Canada. She is involved in community outreach programs through the Centre for Hellenic Studies at UNB.

Olga Zatushevskaya

- Director -

Olga Zatushevskaya serves on the board of Three Hierarchs Academy and is a member of the Curriculum Committee. She holds a master’s degree in Software Engineering. She taught college courses during her post-graduate studies and helped design lab curriculums. She is currently working as a senior engineer for a US private security company.

Olga was director of a small Orthodox Sunday school in a ROCOR parish for many years. She has a special love for the Greek language and would like to share her enthusiasm with others.

Ioanna Pagani

- Director -

Ioanna Pagani has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. She has conducted research in the fields of artificial organs, cancer and stem cell biology, computational biology, bioinformatics, human and environmental genomics and genetics. Currently, she focuses on the human microbiome, microbial pathogens and infectious disease agents. Dr. Pagani is a co-author in more than 120 peer-reviewed publications and co-inventor in 6 filed US patents.

Ioanna speaks five languages, and has taught modern and ancient Greek for 15 years. She has served as Director of the Annunciation Greek School in the Bay Area.
